Shri.Ambalal Ranchoddas Sura Museum is run by the M.L.Gandhi trust of the college. It was established in 1965 with the donation of a former professor Dr.Vinodbhai Purani. Shri.Ambalal Ranchoddas Sura Museum Modasa occupies an important place in the entire North Gujarat University. History has always been a subject of human curiosity. Cultural heritage holds an important place in relation to fine arts, scientific perspectives and objects. The museum revives historical moments with preserved historical stone arts. The museum was established in the memory of Vrajlal Sura. The former principal Dr. Dhirubhai Thakar preserved the heritage of the ancient history of Pichhani, Modasa, the princely state of this region.
The art gallery is very unique in this museum which gives glimpses of the ancient culture of Modasa and other nearby villages. It was started by Sunil Adesara with the help of Dr. L. D. Joshi and Dr. Vinodbhai Purani. Besides all these, Clay vessels are preserved with care in the museum. There are also inscriptions written in Urdu, Persian and Arabic. Other sculptures of Vikramsavant from the 4th century to the early 18th century are found in the museum. Apart from this, the museum has sculptures of Jain, Buddha, Shiva Shakti, Surya, Brahma, Vishnu, etc.
Principals, teachers, students are visiting this museum for conducting the various activities and make the students aware about our cultural heritage. We have received a grant of two lakh to preserve this museum. The contribution of Shri Navinchandra R.Modi, the president of the college, Shri Mahendra V.Shah, the secretary of the college, and Dr. D.H. Joshi, principal is notable in the development of the museum.
