National Service Scheme (NSS)

Since its establishment in 1969, the National Service Scheme (NSS) at Shri S.K. Shah and Shrikrishna O.M. Arts  College has been a  cornerstone of community service and student development. Over the decades, NSS has actively engaged students in various social initiatives, instilling in them a sense of civil responsibility and leadership.

Foundation and Growth: Founded with the vision of Mahatma Gandhi, NSS at Shri S.K. Shah and Shrikrishna O.M. Arts  College began with the noble aim of fostering social awareness and community service among students. It has since grown into a dynamic platform that empowers youth to contribute meaningfully to society.

Objectives: The NSS unit at Shri S.K. Shah and Shrikrishna O.M. Arts  College is committed to achieving the following objectives:

1. Community Service: Undertaking projects that address local needs and contribute to community development.
2. Personality Development: Fostering leadership skills, teamwork, and empathy through practical, hands-on experiences.
3. Social Awareness: Educating students about pressing social issues such as education, health, environment, and civil responsibilities.
4. National Integration: Promoting unity and understanding among students from diverse backgrounds through collaborative activities.

Activities: The NSS unit at Shri S.K. Shah and Shrikrishna O.M. Arts  College organizes a variety of activities throughout the year, including:

• Blood Donation Camps: Encouraging voluntary blood donations to support healthcare efforts.
• Environmental Conservation: Planting trees, promoting recycling, and organizing awareness campaigns on environmental sustainability.
• Educational Outreach: Conducting literacy programs, skill development workshops, and career guidance sessions.
• Health Camps: Providing medical assistance, health education, and hygiene awareness to underprivileged communities.
